Why Linuxnewbie.org?

Linuxnewbie.org is changing the way people perceive Linux. Linuxnewbie.org is bridging the gap between Windows and Linux.

As you may know already, learning Linux isn't easy. That's where 'we' come in. 'We' means the community.

Linuxnewbie.org is a place where anyone can write their tips and tricks and submit them for publication. They are subject to review or possibly testing, frankly we don't know how this is going to work out, but we think if it does work out, the site will do everyone a great service.

"Maybe linuxnewbie could be a place where a new kind of Linux user can evolve that doesn't act like an arrogant prick. " -Bryan Dotzourb

That's exactly what Linuxnewbie.org is about. A friendly environment for new users and experienced users alike. Linux seems to have a stigmatism, "it's for hackers," report many uneducated people. However, that is one of the best things that makes Linux so great--the ability to hack it the way you want to get what you want from it. I digress, we at Linuxnewbie.org want to crush that stigmatism and make Linux more popular with everyday users, thus propelling Linus' original vision of bringing a Unix based operating system to the desktop.

This is a side project of mine and I count on everyone contributing in making Linuxnewbie.org 'THE' place to go for learning Linux.

If you have written your own "Newbieized Help Files," and want to publish them, feel free to send them to newfiles@linuxnewbie.org.
