Deno is the moderator at mandrakeforum.com. In addition to keeping the discussions lively and interesting, he also answers to people who are having technical problems. To the casual reader it may appear that Linux is "just trouble, no fun", which Deno thinks is completely wrong. "So I decided to give you some examples of people who tried Linux-Mandrake and were charmed at once". After briefly digging through his archives he said: "Here they are".

    • Con Kolivas writes "I think it is excellent that Linux-Mandrake have taken on the task of fixing the mess that is linux. There are heaps of packages and distributions adding to the nuts and bolts of linux but together they just don't make up a usable operating system. (...) Keep up the good work, I'll make whatever comments I can on cooker and recommend and install it wherever I can. "

    • Randall Berger wrote: Thank you for an excellent Linux distro. I have to admit, I feel somewhat guilty for using Linux-Mandrake for almost a year now (starting with version 6.0), without paying anything for it (downloaded it from metalab at UNC). I want to contribute to your company. So, I think tommorow I'll go to CompUSA or BestBuy and buy the deluxe version 7.1 for 50 bucks -which is still much less than a tenth of what I'd pay for all the equivalent microsoft server 2000 and all its attendent addon server services. Good luck and looking forward to next version (version 8?) when Linux kernel 2.4 and KDE 2.0 are publicly released.

I just downloaded Linux-Mandrake last night and I've been using it for only a few hours and I must admit I have yet to use a linux distro that holds a candle to it. I've used it less than 24 hours and I am completely sold on it! Great job guys and gals!!!!!!!! I will be sure to tell all linux and windows users I know to use Mandrake. Thanks for creating such an awesome product.

    • David Miller wrote:Compared to the RedHat distro/website combination, Linux-Mandrake rocks! I know that it's essentially the same thing, but I have learned more in the few hours spent on your website than I have *ever* learned installing and misconfiguring my current install of RedHat 6.1. I really like the tutorials and demos! Thanks!

    • Eugene Grimsdell wrote:(...)On the other hand I used Linux-Mandrake 6.5 on this laptop and liked it. When 7.0 7.01 and 7.02 came out I went to Corel 1.0 and enjoyed the stay. Now come the good part, I have tried 7.1 and I like it a hell of a lot, so much so that I use the Corel CD as a coaster and Linux-Mandrake on all my linux systems.(...)
