Kodandarama
Worth
every penny
This, rib-tickling
comedy besides being an action feast, is the remake of the Malayalam
hit film Thenkasipatnam which was made as Hanuman Junction in Telugu.
It consists of a rare subject that is refreshing and fits the prominent
stars. The two towering stars of Kannada cinema Ravichandran and
Shivrajkumar live up to the expectations with their wonderful performance.
The two inseparable
pals grow from rags to riches. They oppose the disgruntled elements
in the society jointly. Nothing can affect the Kodanda (Ravichandran)
and Rama (Shivrajkumar). Rich and respected Kodandarama are also
stormy when it comes to issues against their principles. They have
a sister. An opponent family is interested in breaking their friendship.
There is Meenakshi (Saakshi Shivanand) in the opponent family who
is in love with Kodanda since childhood. Rama falls for Sangeetha,
a singer. But Sangeetha is interested in Kodanda and she makes this
clear to Rama. To win the hearts of Kodandarama and get their sister
as his life partner is Mohan who is working as a manager. Then it
is time for confusion. When Kodanda introduces Meenakshi to Rama,
he feels that his friend has selected her for him. On the other
hand, there is similar confusion with Sangeetha. Who wins whom is
what the climax is all about.
While Ravichandran
deserves full credit for making this a wholesome entertainer, it
is Shivrajkumar who steals the show with wonderful emotional performance.
The team of Mohan, Sadhu Kokila, Mandip Rai and Mandya Ramesh sends
the audience in peels of laughter in the theatre.
The costumes, cinematography and three songs, Hanga Hangama
..., Balangochchi ... and Malle Hoova Chandano
... are pleasing to the ear.
A movie worth
watching.
