 Srikanth excels
he offbeat love story by director Santosh showcases the acting ability of Srikanth who, till now, was projected only as the romantic chocolate hero. He has made full use of the opportunity to give his best.

An unemployed Srikanth comes to the city in search of a job. He gets shelter in a house along with three other bachelors. Two of them are in love with Trisha, who lives next door. The youth fear that Srikanth might win the heart of Trisha and so they start creating trouble for him. One such prank pulled on Srikanth leads to Trisha’s brothers beating him up severely. At that juncture, his friends who come to the scene reveal that Srikanth and Trisha are in love. Actually when Trisha was staying in the college hostel, she met Srikanth and they fell in love with each other and wanted to get married.

But tragedy strikes Trisha in the form of a terminal disease. She leaves for her brother’s house and Srikanth follows her to be with her till her end. He keeps his identity a secret since Trisha doesn’t want her brothers to learn of this. Trisha is breathing her last when Srikanth walks out of the hospital in deranged state unable to see his beloved dying.

Trisha, as the girl in love and later awaiting her death, gives a good performance. Srikanth’s battered state and his mental trauma is brought out well in the climax. Illayaraja’s music and background score is an asset.

 Sluggish
New directors Saravanan and Ram have taken an English movie as an inspiration and developed it into a love story. The film’s major drawback is Vijaysarathy who plays the lead. Newfind Paval, who plays the title role, does a good job.

Seven years after leaving school, Vijaysarathy decides to look for Pavalakodi, the girl on whom he had a crush. He takes the help of detective Robert. The girl is now a doctor and single. Robert misleads Vijaysarathy and starts wooing the girl. Vijaysarathy comes to the city and meets Pavalakodi. Their old ties are renewed but Robert and another dejected lover spoil the pitch by spreading wrong information about Vijaysarathy. The uniting of the lovers forms the story.

The film drags on and the only saving grace is a few comic scenes by Robert and his partner. Sirpy gives two good songs but sadly it is not picturised well.
