Lacking on several fronts

Madhuban Productions has come out with "Thirudiya Idhayathai," a love triangle which has a handsome hero in Rohan, rich production values complete with all the commercial ingredients. But it is in the crucial area of screenplay that they have slipped up.
Arun (Rohan) and Ganesh (Kunal) are thick friends. Both plan to get married only after each approves the partner of the other. It so happens that they both fall in love with the same girl, Haritha (Subha).
Rohan sure is hero material. He has looks, fights and also dances well, is at home with the camera and has a nice body language. Only he should work a little on the emotional scenes.
Kunal as anti-hero is not very impressive. Subha must learn the ropes of acting. The director should have taken better care to chisel Ramji's character. The `oomph' girl Brinda has little impact.
Murali Krishna has wasted a good opportunity by doing a half-baked project. He should have worked more on the screenplay. Both dialogue and direction leave much to be desired.
Music by Bharani certainly helps the proceedings. Particularly the two songs `Ithanai Nalay' by Harish Ragavendra and `Monalisa' by Mahathi.
Rajarajan's camera work is noteworthy, while Sai Suresh's editing is erratic.
