Are You Forgetting to do Something? Email Print

When it comes to Medical Alert systems most of them require you to test the pendant/watch/voice box once a month.  The reason for this is because batteries can go low without you knowing it until that fateful day when you fall and can't get up.

Once a month may seem like a lot to remember so here are some tips on how to remember when to do it.

Test it on the day of your birthday.
So if your birthday is September 26, it'll be easy to remember to test your medical alert pendant on the 26th of each month.

Test it on the first day of the month.
New month, new test.

Test it when you're paying monthly bills.
If you're sitting at a desk writing checks you may as well push the button on your medical alert watch just to check in with the dispatch center and say, "Hi".

Test it right before you do your once-a-month grocery shopping or prescription refill.
Before you leave the house to do your monthly shopping, check your Medical Alert product to make sure you don't need to buy batteries while you're out.

So, remember this friendly reminder to test your Medical Alert system once a month so you know you have protection 24/7, because an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
