Dear Senator Kerry,

I agree with your assessment of the current situation in Iraq, but would like to suggest that your voice will not be heard to maximum effect until you own up publicly to your acute failure during and following the 2004 election to take the clear stand you are now taking.

With all due respect -- and this is coming from one who was one of your supporters, and would be willing to be again, but is not currently -- you are perceived as a follower, not a leader. Dean led and you followed. Murtha led and you followed.
