With regards to the landmark vote on the health care reform bill in the House yesterday, true to form, Congressman John Boehner issued the statement that this congressional health legislation "fails the country."

In response, I would suggest that it’s the hypocrite, obstructionist Republicans, led by the likes of Boehner, Mitch McConnell and John McCain, who are "failing the country." And have been for years.

On "Good Morning America" this morning, John McCain reiterated the GOP talking point that this legislation amounts to a "government takeover" of health care, and that he was "repulsed by all this euphoria going on."

McCain is "repulsed" by a bill that is actually going to help millions of Americans who actually need it? No surprise there, as even a cursory look at his voting record indicates that he feels government money should be reserved for those "want" it, rather than "need" it. The people on Wall Street, for example, all of whom benefitted tremendously from the government gift of billions of dollars in bailout money bestowed upon them in their time of "need," which don’t forget, they brought upon themselves because of their own greed.

Obviously, that is something McCain is okay with. He’s not "repulsed" by something that makes the rich richer. Again, no surprise there. After all, this is a man who, in answer to a question while on the campaign trail, said he didn’t know how many homes he owned at the moment
