Support Congressman Wexler: The Bush-Cheney Criminal Enterprise Must be Confronted Now! Email Print

Recent revelations from the upcoming book by former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan cite the increasing need to confront the impeachment issue immediately.

Congressman Robert Wexler of Florida has vigilantly pursued the necessity of impeachment hearings and of holding government officials, beginning with George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, accountable for potential "high crimes and misdemeanors" under mandate of no less than the U.S. Constitution.

As so many continue to point out, this duty to pursue commission of high crimes and misdemeanors by those charged with upholding the U.S. Constitution violates that document and deems it necessary for them to answer such charges.  There is a duty to pursue such acts of grievous misconduct and, when the facts warrant, remove the responsible parties from their positions of power.

McClellan reveals that Karl Rove, Scooter Libby and Dick Cheney lied about their roles in revealing the identity of Valerie Plame Wilson, actions constituting an obstruction of justice.

Does the Constitution Mean Anything Anymore? Email Print

Does the U.S. Constitution hold any meaning at all in today's Bush-Cheney neoconservative Washington?

The answer that the politically alert are well aware of is that the answer is a loud and highly resounding "No"!

Why does the Constitution hold no current meaning?  That answer is simple to those who have been paying attention.  The Constitution holds no meaning because it has been replaced by Washington's speedy new way of doing business.

For those who have not been paying attention the Constitution has been scrapped for executive decrees, so many of which are imposed by George W. Bush signing statements.  Who cares what the letter and the spirit of legislation involves.

Wexler Passes 100,000 Mark! Wants Quarter Million Impeachment Supporters! Email Print

Congressman Robert Wexler indicated that he hoped he would receive at least 50,000 signatures of support online when he announced along with House Judiciary Committee colleagues his intention to bring before that body the subject of impeaching George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

Since that initial announcement support has reached levels that enabled Wexler to double his initial expectation as he has just passed the 100,000 milestone.  He now is hopeful of receiving 250,000 signatures of support in his effort and anticipates initiating action before the end of the year.

It is significant to note that when Congressman Wexler approached the mainstream media about running his announcement as an op-ed piece that he was spurned by those stalwarts of the mainstream media, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe and USA Today.

Perhaps those prestigious publications were miffed at Wexler for not supplying something currently newsworthy about the exploits of Britney Spears or Paris Hilton rather than concerning himself with saving the U.S. Constitution and American democracy.

Wexler Calls for Impeachment: Ignored by Mainstream Media Email Print

Finally we see some promising action on the Washington landscape about a crucial issue that all too long has been all too exclusively in the province of Congressman Dennis Kucinich of Ohio.  Now thankfully help is on the way and massive support is needed to assist this new impeachment effort.

Congressman Robert Wexler on Friday with the support of colleagues Luis Gutierrez of Illinois and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin called for the House Judiciary Committee, of which they are all members, to begin immediate impeachment hearings against Vice President Dick Cheney.

Their joint statement declared, "These charges are too serious to ignore.  There is credible evidence that the Vice President abused the power of his office, and not only brought us into an unnecessary war but violated the civil liberties and privacy of American citizens.  It is the constitutional duty of Congress to hold impeachment hearings."

A statement on the prominent Democrats.com reflects the tragedy of the supplicant, fearful mainstream media at the present time:
