Capitalist Incarnate: My interview with a vampire
While it's a commonly held belief that "everyone has a nonbiological twin somewhere in the world," I wonder if we all have an antithetical "anti-twin" as well. Because I recently met someone who could easily be mine. Ironically enough, it was at the public library, one of my favorite haunts.

"Class is a dirty word"
-Michael Parenti
Michael Parenti interviewed by Jason Miller
In the land of those who think they're free and the home of savage capitalism, class is indeed a dirty word. Remember, we're a nation of Joe the Plumbers. If we just work hard enough and fend off those socialist vampires who want to suck us dry by redistributing our hard-earned wealth, we can all be financial successes. And if you're a faux-progressive presidential candidate-like Obama, you're doomed to political perdition unless you sign a blood oath disavowing your ties to socialism.

Gravediggers of the world unite! Capitalism Must Die....
-Derrick Jensen
(Perhaps my profane words will offend, but in light of the fact that we are in a race to eradicate capitalism before it renders the Earth uninhabitable, I don't give a nut).

THE ESSENCE OF FREE MARKET CAPITALISM
No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24

"Capitalism is the legitimate racket of the ruling class."
--Al Capone
It has taken Nuremberg-class war crimes, craven ineptitude by Congressional Democrats, foreclosures on every other home in the neighborhood, and a metaphorical gun to our heads when we fill our gas tanks, but growing numbers of us US Americans are shedding our smug insularity.

"It is impossible for capitalism to survive, primarily because the system of capitalism needs some blood to suck. Capitalism used to be like an eagle, but now it's more like a vulture. It used to be strong enough to go and suck anybody's blood whether they were strong or not. But now it has become more cowardly, like the vulture, and it can only suck the blood of the helpless. As the nations of the world free themselves, the capitalism has less victims, less to suck, and it becomes weaker and weaker. It's only a matter of time in my opinion before it will collapse completely."
-Malcolm X
Striving with the unwavering dedication of true believers and slaves to the grind, those of us who exist within the geographic, social, cultural, economic, and political boundaries of the United States are collectively destroying the Earth.

Building A New Paradigm: A Podcast Interview With Riane Eisler
Adam Smith published the Inquiry Into the Nature and Cases of the Wealth of Nations in 1776 and Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels released The Communist Manifesto in 1848. Both publications advocated for economic models, capitalism and socialism respectively, that promised to advance the human condition. Although both paradigms made important contributions during the industrialization era, neither capitalism nor socialism appears equipped to guide humanity in a post-industrial information age economy.
