While it's a commonly held belief that "everyone has a nonbiological twin somewhere in the world," I wonder if we all have an antithetical "anti-twin" as well. Because I recently met someone who could easily be mine. Ironically enough, it was at the public library, one of my favorite haunts.

In the land of those who think they're free and the home of savage capitalism, class is indeed a dirty word. Remember, we're a nation of Joe the Plumbers. If we just work hard enough and fend off those socialist vampires who want to suck us dry by redistributing our hard-earned wealth, we can all be financial successes. And if you're a faux-progressive presidential candidate-like Obama, you're doomed to political perdition unless you sign a blood oath disavowing your ties to socialism.

(Perhaps my profane words will offend, but in light of the fact that we are in a race to eradicate capitalism before it renders the Earth uninhabitable, I don't give a nut).

I could have added hyperlinks to every word in this missive to provide “authenticity” for the contents.  It would transform the reading of this brief lament into a three-day marathon.  There is so much fact out there to substantiate the message that it would take a book of footnotes.  Why bother?  Those of you who are aware of the truth are, well… aware of the truth!  Those who have chosen to be enablers of evil wouldn’t bother to use references anyway or, being true to their nature, would simply dismiss them as more left wing ranting.  If you really want to check something, you know how to use a search engine don’t you?

Adam Smith published the Inquiry Into the Nature and Cases of the Wealth of Nations in 1776 and Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels released The Communist Manifesto in 1848. Both publications advocated for economic models, capitalism and socialism respectively, that promised to advance the human condition. Although both paradigms made important contributions during the industrialization era, neither capitalism nor socialism appears equipped to guide humanity in a post-industrial information age economy.
