This piece is for the skeptics. Not for skeptical Republicans (I imagine you have your minds made up already), but for all the undecideds and independents, for all the middle-of-the-roadsters, for the person who is right now saying "I would be happy with either candidate as President" or, I suppose, for the one who is saying "I can't stand either of these guys". I've been listening to you, reading your editorials. I know what you're saying. Dare I say, I know what you're not saying too. Obama skeptics: This piece is for you.

Remember this media talking point now: Al Gore only wrote The Assault On Reason as a precursor to a presidential run, not as the intelligent cogent argument of a statesman for the rule of reason. Right. This from a man who has totally excoriated the political process in this country and shown the media for the corporate propaganda arm of the government that it is. Oh yes, this is definitely the work of a man who wants to get back in that muck himself and is only pulling the wool over our eyes with this book...Well, at least that is the way it is depicted by those so far interviewing Al Gore regarding his new book, The Assault On Reason, and I see it as a deliberate attempt to divert discussion from the truth in the book and it seems many are also taking the bait.

If I see one more speculative article tying Mr. Gore's work on this climate crisis into some clandestine political motivation I think I will scream. It has become obvious to me through reading nothing but this politically motivated unsubstantiated rhetoric that is overshadowing the true message of this important film, that many Americans in this country seem to be nothing but distracted, shallow, lazy people who are more dazzled by hype than substance. It then also validates every word Mr. Gore has stated up to this point regarding this toxic system and the uninformed Americans who place such a shallow value on an effort that transcends their petty political desires.

And the groups that perpetuate it with their political speculation.
