The Professional Scrum Trainer

engaging to improve

Professional Scrum Trainers (PSTs) are professionals who are certified by Scrum.org to teach courses developed by Scrum.org. They are skilled in software development and/or product management. They are well‐versed in the Scrum framework and have extensive experience working as part of, and coaching, Scrum Teams. And, they are active in their local software development communities.

PSTs use highly-tuned and standardized courseware and curriculum developed by Scrum.org. Trainers bring their own style and experience to their courses, but using standardized materials ensures that all PSTs are delivering the same high-quality content to each and every student. These trainers then continuously evaluate and improve themselves through the use of student feedback and student assessments, and work with Scrum.org to continually improve the program and its materials.

People who wish to become PSTs must go through a rigorous application and approval process before they are certified to conduct Scrum.org classes.  Applicants have the option of certifying on either the PSM or PSD program to get a "core" license. After receiving a core license, trainers are eligible to certify on other courses as described below.
