Summary

By placing some ship systems under AI control, the ship enjoys improved accuracy of all weapons, faster turret speed, and better thrust and turning speed.

The AI Section is a completely crewless Command section and requires AI Fire Control to be researched. It has the highest maneuverability of any of the command sections and also narrows the accuracy cone of all ship weapons, much like the Fire Control Command section, but instead increases weapon accuracy +95%.

While the AI Command Section is pricey, it is generally more heavily armed than other command sections since it is a relatively solid state section. There is more room for turret and weapon support given the absence of crew areas. It also reduces the number of crew in other sections. The AI contained could run the whole ship by itself, but the sentient races believe that organic crew are more efficient in some positions.

For most players, this section is an excellent choice. The Liir get frighteningly maneuverable when coupled with their flicker warp drive. All in all it's a scary thing to see out on the battlefield. If only it weren't for the increased EMP vulnerability.

And yes, those red lights in front do go back and forth a'la KITT or a Cylon.

AI Rebellion

When an AI Rebellion occurs, all ships with the AI Command Section are given to the new AI player. Starting with the 1.2.2 update, the AI rebellion also gains the Deep Scan ability on all AI Command Sections, something that no other race can do. All other stats for the AI Command Section are the same as for the race that they rebelled from (listed above).
