Talk:Weapon Mounts

From SOTS

Don't forget Destroyer Spinal Mounts which contain one large weapon. --Admin 23:00, 4 January 2006 (EST)

I removed that because in my estimation "Spinal Mount" is actually a section which has a single Fixed mount, not an actual type of mount. I'll leave the page alone for now, but please respond. -TheDeadlyShoe 11:59, 5 January 2006 (EST)
If you're talking about mounting weapons onto a ship in a general sense then the spinal mounts and other special weapon types have a place on this page. If you're talking specifically about turrets and fixed mounts then no. I personally think this page is the former about all the ways to put shooty things onto your ship. --Admin 12:42, 5 January 2006 (EST)

I kinda feel the topic is Weapon Mounts not Turrets... ;)
Spinal Mounts, Fixed vs Turreted, #of Barrels et al all have a place.
While Spinal Mounts do have dedicated Modules, they are still a method of mounting weaponry.
So expect to see the Riders added once we have more info.... ;D

[edit] i got rid of the t-o-c on purpose

it is teh lame. TheDeadlyShoe 13:40, 15 January 2006 (EST)

  • Nice grammar and capitalization. If you don't like TOCs then turn them off in your Special:Preferences under Misc. and you'll never see them again on any page. Not only do headings do a TOC but it allows you to link directly to the sub-section like this: Special Mounts. --Admin 13:57, 15 January 2006 (EST)
I like TOCs, just not on this page. I feel it dominates it. I am aware of their uses. TheDeadlyShoe 18:04, 16 January 2006 (EST)
Then why don't you just put a __NOTOC__ into the page instead? --Admin 19:12, 16 January 2006 (EST)
Er...good idea. ;) TheDeadlyShoe 22:22, 16 January 2006 (EST)

[edit] Special Mounts

The article doesn't list bio missiles as a special mount... I mean, you can't put them just anywhere, can you? (P.S.: I've read the wiki but never added to it... do you just write out the code for your name and timestamp after your comment or is there a shortcut?) --Boolean

  • Good call Boolean. As for a name and timestamp shortcut, there are two ways of doing it. One, there is a button on the edit page toolbar (second from the right) that will but your name and timestamp on the page. You can also type in --~~~ for just a name or --~~~~ for a name and timestamp. :) If you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask them on the talk pages and don't forget that you can use the Sandbox to practice editing and experiment. --Nspace 09:34, 29 August 2006 (PDT)
Okay, thanks for the help. --Boolean 11:15, 29 August 2006 (PDT)
  • Double-dashes not required unless you want dashes infront of your name :) Cathexis 11:19, 29 August 2006 (PDT)
