Cloak Section

Summary

A complex system of sensor counter-measures and light masking renders a ship effectively invisible to opponents. Cloaked ships cannot be targeted directly, so care should be taken to avoid accidentally taking fire. As well, cloaked ships cannot fire while cloaked, though scientists believe they may be able to solve this problem with research.

The Cloak Section allows a ship to mask its presence on the battlefield. The hardware required to generate a cloaking field is fixed in size, and as such fills a destroyer mission section but a cruiser command section. Dreadnoughts are too massive to be successfully cloaked.

This section can be upgraded with Improved Cloaking or Intangibility, if you research the required technology.
