| Description: | (Random) A high energy discharge weapon commonly known as a lightning gun. It damages target ships by inducing an arc of plasma. Damage is low but the plasma arc can sometimes jump to another close by ship, damaging it as well. |

| Effect: | Causes extensive damage to organics and can jump from a hit target to another target in close proximity, with a maximum of 1 branch per shot. Each additional hit target takes the same damage per second that the original target takes. |
| Notes: | Makes for good anti–missile defense if you do not have PD tech yet. Also very useful against Drones, including the Swarm. Weak against colony targets. Hardened Electronics halves the damage done. |
