ARTISTdirect.com and South Africa's Civil Twilight have partnered for an exclusive listening party for their remix EP! It's not out until October 16, so you get to enjoy the whole thing in advance, courtesy of your friends at ARTISTdirect.com.

If you're not already familiar with Civil Twilight, let us introduce you to them. They are a South African quartet signed to Wind-up Records, and are known for their ethereal guitars and eerie falsettos. Vocalist Steven McKellar’s mother was an opera singer and he and his brother Andrew (guitars) grew up listening to opera and grunge. Those are two great tastes that don't taste great together, but it makes for one helluva an eclectic sound.

The band just toured with MUTEMATH and hit NYC during fashion week for a collaboration with designer Yuna Yang. She contacted the band after hearing their music and wanted to use it for her show, since their sound inspired her entire spring line. Their video was also played on the NASDAQ marquee in Times Square. Cool, right?

The band sponsored a remix contest through Indaba. There were 300 remixes entered from all over the world, with remixers tackling songs from the band's Holy Weather.

The EP features remixes by fellow indie powerhouses Ra Ra Riot and School of Seven Bells, as well as the winners of the remix contest.

Try before you buy. Listen and enjoy.
