Rated 3 out of 5 by MCanuck Wish I could reconsider this purchase... This play set took approximately 20 hours to assemble. However, the assembly really did not need to be as complicated as it was. At times it was very frustrating and there was need for a lot of problem solving along the way. I would suggest to the company to have someone rewrite the instruction manual. For the price of the unit, I would have expected that the slide come pre-assembled. In all, this was probably the most challenging piece to put together.Hint on assembly: The instruction manual suggests pre-drilling the holes with a 5/16 bit. We discovered that this made the holes too large and the screws would not grip into the wood. Choose a smaller size bit and try a few screws before pre-drilling all the holes. There are other models on walmart.com that I wish I could consider now. We were looking for a set with a wooden roof and thought that one in the higher price range would be of better quality. All in all, I am somewhat disappointed with this purchase. However, now that it is finally assembled, I am hoping that our son will enjoy this for years to come. 07/22/2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by ruby38 Quality of wood is not great. Took 3 weeks and 3 phone calls to get replacements pieces of wood that were damaged when I opened the box. Really bad customer service, I was told it was going to be shipped the next day on two different occassions, which it wasn't and that they were going to call back to verify this. They never got back to me and I had to call the third time before they shipped the order. Also some of the nuts and screws were labelled wrong which makes it confusing as initially you think you are missing them. Would not recommend this swingset and Backyard Discovery - it should not take 3 weeks to ship 4 pieces of wood and meanwhile I can't get the swingset assembled waiting on them to be shipped. 10/12/2011

The adults can climb up in it without breaking it. The only thing I am worried about is that the slide might blow apart in a storm, but otherwise it came with 6 anchors that you put in the ground so that is very comforting. The review that said that the directions do not always match the size of the holes that need to be drilled is true. My husband ignored my warning and had to drill some new holes in the tower to put in the bolts. Also the review that said it took 20 hours to build is very accurate. If you take your time, follow directions, and level it, it will take 2 1/2 days to finish completely. My husband and his friend actually had fun building it. The directions were not as well written as they could have been but it came with a ton of spare bolts and screws. The boxes are extremely heavy, so I would just recommend paying for delivery. I really like that it has a wooden roof on the fort instead of the canvas roofing that you see on other swing sets. The price is amazing for what you get. 01/26/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 For $1000 I would expect something much sturdier. We have had the swing set up for maybe 2 months and already have cracked wood, the glider isn't safe to use as the wood is so soft that the screws are coming out, the slide is an absolute piece of junk. We have a 2 year old that can make the entire thing sway- he weighs 27 lbs! The wood is very thin and flimsy. They had 111 bags of parts in the boxes- an absolute pain to put together and now it isn't even worth having. I do not recommend wasting your money on this swingset. 06/28/2012
