Rated 4 out of 5 by JohnWally1 We bought this smoke detector because it uses ion, and photoelectric smoke, and fire detection methods. About a week after I installed it, it went off after my wife let some cooking oil get hotter than it needed to be. I'm not sure our old detector (ion detection method only) would have detected the problem as quickly. We are pleased with it so far. 08/24/2012
