Rated 5 out of 5 by Jimt2099 Great performer and much quieter than the old one. I bought this vacuum, for my wife, to replace an older one of a different brand. I am impressed with the vacuum power this machine has. The motor is also a lot quieter than our old one, or for that matter any other vacuum we have ever used. This is a big plus in my book as I really do not like loud vacuum cleaners.This machine has good a accessory package and a nice auxiliary hose for cleaning furniture, curtains, or other areas. I really like the canister option over the old bag type. You can see how much dirt and dust is being removed from your floors, or whatever you are vacuuming and when finished it is very easy to remove the canister and empty it, making it, in my opinion, much more sanitary than trying to handle a paper bag full of dust and dirt which inevitably blows or falls out of the bag before you get it into the trash can.The only cons that I see are that the auxiliary hose does not extend as far as I would like and it is somewhat difficult to replace back into the holding unit on the vacuum when finished using it. The later probably just takes a little practice and familiarity to resolve, so I rated this a five star because the cons are very miner and specific to my preferences only.Overall this is a great vacuum cleaner and for the price at Walmart.com it is a no-brainer to buy this unit. We are very happy with it and I would recommend it to anyone in need of a good vacuum cleaner. Also, my wife uses vacuum cleaners at work and according to her comparison of those with this Dirt Devil she said the Dirt Devil has more cleaning power, is quieter, and is much easier to use. She wishes they would buy these at work. 03/02/2012
