This is a great television for the money that I paid. It has lots of features and even allows me to get HD channels without the HD box. That is great.

This is our first LED-HDTV from Vizio. No wonder why everyone braggs about it !; Its a sleek model; low weight; thin frames and less messy with regards to setup. It got very crisp image at HD and the light\/contrast is evenly distributed and is not overpowering to hurt the eyes. The sound quality is good too; no \"hissing noise\" even at a very low volume for prolonged duration. One thing i am not sure about if its the TV or the cable service, is that each channel got a different volume level !. I'm sure there's a way to fix that !. Then, the TV looks much wider than I thought; so getting appropriate stand was a challange ! Price-wise, initially I thought its a bit expensive, but thats a matter of time ! Other similar model TV by different companies didn't attract us, though they are less by about $30-100 at this time. Either they are too bulky, heavy, moderate picture quality and poor rating. So I by-pass the price concern! The reason for 4 stars is that we got the TV only recently and yet to explore all the technicalities to assess better !\nOverall, I strongly recommend this TV as a top candidate in this category (i.e., LED-HD\/42\")

We were checking around for the best smart TV that we could find and the only one that came up with the best features was the Samsung 5300. It had everything we were looking for and in our price range. As soon as my hubby hooked it up, we were just astounded by the amazing picture quality. It was so clear and sharp that it felt like we were there in the picture. And that was watching a regular channel. When we put on a HD channel, all we could say was wow!! The sound was great. My only pet peeve is that for a smart TV, it doesn't have smart sound-meanng it doesn't adjust when commercials are louder than the show we are watching. The ability to also be on the internet is also amazing! We can pick and choose between hulu, netflix, Pandora, etc. We bought a wireless keyboard and we can do everything we need on the tgv. No more squinting at our phones, tablets or even computer. We love this TV. Samsung came out with an amazing TV for an affordable price. You won't find a comparable TV elsewhere for less.

LG is a brand that I trust completely. This is our second flat screen from them and they're simply remarkable. The first one was purchased in late 2006\/early 2007 at a premium price (around $1500# and it's still working like a charm. The picture quality is superb, the sound is crisp, and the color saturation is spot it. It EASILY rivals, and often beats, the newer tvs even though it's only 720P.\n\nThat being said, we gladly jumped on the sale that our local WalMart was having to clearance this LCD tv for $398! It's a lovely 1080p with a 120Hz refresh rate. I'll tell you what, a blueray movie on this screen #we first watched Avatar, again# is beyond expectations. We sat with our mouths agape nearly the entire time. It's well worth any price you'd pay, but surely worth the sale price!\n\nWe've seen LED tv's, and haven't been too fond of the how clearly you can tell the difference between a REAL background or when someone is just standing in front of a green screen. These effects were more easily masked in earlier television development for sheer lack of crisp picture. I find this nearly \"perfect\" picture to be distracting from the programming. Also LED tvs are either lit from the side or have local dimming backlights, whereas the LCD is just backlit, so the difference between whites #crisper on LED# and blacks #crisper on LCD) is something to take into consideration.\n\nOther reviews said they had issues with this tv being quiet. We had it at level 32, which isn't even 1\/3 of the maximum volume and were blown away! Maybe it had to do with positioning of the tv and acoustics of the room, but ours was fabulous!\n\nOverall, it's a great tv, still extremely relevant for the times, and you can't be the price, hands down.\n\nBuy it!

Small youtube videos are unbelievably clear. No wait time for Netflix. And the 3D picture is way great. Plus I can use 3D glasses from the movie theatre. All my can enjoy my tv from any angle.

A great TV if you do not have a need for the many bells and whistles offered on more expensive models.

After much research and time looking for the perfect upgrade to my older 37 inch hi def tv, i found the LG 47M4600 on the Walmart web site.. There were a lot of good reviews and the price was right. After reading that 3d technology may not be the wave of the future, and that eventually glass-less 3d TV would be the norm, I decided to purchase this TV with the option, as LG had a reputation for a good picture..which it does..After a minimal amount of connection time, I hooked up everything simply to my Comcast Cable box and with a few adjustments, I was ready to go..After fooling around with Comcast customer support, that didn't seem to know much about cable boxes and 3d television, I went to the on demand menu and starting watching the available shows to test the 3d..Very impressed with the quality, and the glasses work excellent. For Comcast subscribers, at least in St Paul anyway, there are two channels of 3d TV, that are available with certain packages..ESPN3 and miscellaneous shows..channels 897 and 898..It is impossible to find these numbers on line, but if you check the up to date channel guide, you can find these two channels listed..All in all, despite limited programming, there is still enough stuff to watch if so inclined.. The 2d-3d on regular shows is much better than anticipated, and the effect is rather good.. The quality of the regular hi def is excellent on the LG also..The remote is easy to use and simple..there are only two 3d buttons to fool with, and they take a while to figure out the 2-d to 3d picture icons..different settings work on on demand versus actual channel programming... In addition, unlike other TV's, such as Samsung, the amount of connections in the back of the TV is adequate to hold even an VCR or an older type DVD. The only thing missing on the back is a DVI connection, but there are adapter cables that can be purchased, such as a DVI to HDMI cable to suit most of your needs.. This is not a Smart TV, as I tried to hook up the network to my WIFI setup and then realized that it wouldn't work directly to a PC, however, using a USB cable or HDMI should suffice most users.. All in all the excellent picture and the simplicity of operation make this an excellent purchase. The price has varied from web site to web site for this TV, but the Walmart site had the most and best reviews for this model. Ordered it online with free shipping. Arrived quickly, in about 5 days.

We are amazed how much we were missing on picture quality with our old projection screen. We wanted to go led because we were tired of paying for a new lamp. Found this tv on another .com and usually they would be the cheapest place to buy things but could not beat walmart on the price. I think the sound is fine and we don't need to buy any sound bar. If we want stereo we can just hook it up to our speakers. Because the tv is so thin they really couldn't put much of a speaker system in. We also had replaced our dvd with a blue-ray but play only dvd's on them and you can really see the dimensions that you never really noticed before on this tv. This tv is a steal for what you get. Totally recommend!

This is my first Vizio product and I was a little concerned to stray from tv brands I knew (Samsung, Sony, Panasonic), but I'm pleasantly surprised with the crystal clear picture and overall quality. I have other large hdtv's and this one is definitely superior, especially the picture quality. Wireless network was a little tricky but finally realized the tv only accepts wpa and not wpa2. Once I changed via my wireless router, it's working great.

Great TV and Pretty good sound bar. The only thing is that the sound bar mounting brackets do not come with screws or bolts, you will have to buy these. I found out after I just mounted the TV on the wall and had to go out and buy them. The only bad things was mine did not come with screws for the table stand, but did not really need them.\nThe sound from the TV speakers are not all that great, but with the sound bar it a lot better. And that is why I gave it five stars. It also comes with two pairs (or four 3D glasses). The 3D was great. The remote will easily control what ever you need it to and the TV remote will also control the sound bar. Also, the sound bar remote will control basic controls of the TV.\nI bought mine from Sam's Club and paid $705 with shipping, if you can I would go that route.\nPicture quality is excellent.....You will love this tv.

I have previously purchased 2 smaller LGs in the past and both have performed excellent. I bought this one to replace a 58 Panasonic plasma I bought 2 years ago that was loosing it's black level performance. Also I never could get the picture bright enough. In comes the LG. After using the picture adjustment called Picture Wizard, I noticed the black levels were quite off. I then used a Microsoft calibration DVD I have used on all my TVs since 2006 and presto- the picture was great. The main picture adjustment I had to change was the brightness level. I changed it from 50 to 40. The picture is bright, sharp, and the dark areas look excellent. The sound is also very good. I have noticed the white shadows when the screen is blank. That is not a problem because it goes away when something is on the screen. I have not noticed motion blur on the set as some have complained. I have not used the 3D function because content is very limited and expensive. I paid $848 and added the 3 year warranty for $62. The total with taxes came to $948. Walmart delivered it fast in 2-3 days.

We bought this TV for the value. Awesome picture (while it lasted); sound bar not great. After only five months, the TV stopped working - wouldn't turn on. LG sent a new one and customer service was fair. However, new one had a busted screen! The packaging was fine so FedEx didn't damage it. So disappointed in the experience. We have two other Samsungs and are going to get a refund and switch back.

I bought this TV \"blind\" as it was unavailable for viewing in all the stores in my area. I went off the reviews and am so glad I did. For much less than some other brands of the same size, I scored a wonderful TV.\n\nPROS: The picture quality was terrific right out of the box and we have not felt the need to adjust the settings as far as color is concerned. We're most amazed with the sound quality. We have in home surround sound but no receiver, which was next on our list to purchase. At this time, we feel no need to do so as the sound from this TV is excellent. It is deep and goes through you as if you are at a movie theater. Another feature we like is that you can set the timer for 180 minutes (vs. the typical 120 minutes) and if the TV gets left on without a signal, it will turn itself off. It comes with 2 HDMI ports; 1 in the back and 1 on the side, plus all the other extras.\n\nCONS: Embarrassed to say, I dislike the remote. It's big and seems a little cheap considering the high quality of the TV.\n\nAll in all, I'm very pleased with this purchase and I hope this TV lasts for years to come.

I looked threw over 100 tv's in person to see the picture quality for the size and this tv is just as good as the others that cost $100.00's of dollars more. We also puchased a wall mount when we bought this TV and the only thing you have to check is that the mount meets the requirements of your tv. They tried to sell me a bigger mount because the tv is 55 inches..but, I did not have to buy that mount. It will tell you the vesa standard on the tv specs make sure your mount is the same or the holes will not line up for install.. I would recomend this Tv to anyone.

Vizio has never disappointed me. Walmarts price didn't either.lol. Luv the one button access to netflick. Tv looks amazing. Clarity is good even with a simple antenna. Very lightweight. I think that the stand it comes with is way too small. So it slightly wobble. Otherwise can't say nothing negative.
