  • Database Design Training: Basic Level

    This course is designed for Database Developers who would like to be self-sufficient when using the BOARD software to implement and maintain databases.
    Delegates will learn about the fundamental concepts of database construction and how to deal with error troubleshooting, as well as security management. The basic elements of creating and maintaining a BOARD database, such as Entities, Relationships and Cubes is covered in depth as well as the process of loading data into the database (Data Readers).

    These methods will be put into practice on a small data set to implement a sales analysis application managing multiple data sources.

  • Capsule Design Training (Front-End): Basic Level

    This course is designed for users who would like to become self-sufficient in creating, designing and maintaining the Capsule environment in BOARD. This includes the building and designing of screens, reports and dashboards which will be viewed by the end users of the applications.
    Delegates will learn how to effectively design and create BOARD “Capsules”. These are containers which can accommodate any BOARD object such as reports, graphs, spreadsheets, folders, carousels, simulation models, dashboards and navigation menus. These objects can be freely positioned on a screen with a simple drag & drop from a ribbon bar and interactively configured.

    During the two-day course a wide variety of objects will be introduced and explained in detail which will allow you to create various types of applications. We will also discuss how to effectively design an application and what to consider from an end-user perspective. How to link objects will also be discussed. We will also create environments to do data entry and simulation as well as introduce the Office Add-ins.

  • Procedure Training: Advanced Level

    This course is designed for Database Developers or advanced Power users who have already completed the Database & Capsule Training. This course brings together a lot of the aspects learnt in the previous courses and enables developers to build fully integrated and automated BI & CPM solutions.
    The BOARD Procedure environment allows application developers to configure a broad range of tasks or actions. For example automating the loading or extracting of data to and from BOARD, printing reports, invoking external programs etc. The Procedure environment also has tasks that process data; from simple calculations to complex allocation logic required in planning and forecasting applications as well as the creation of Workflows and approval cycles.

    Pre-Requisite for attendance: Database Training & Capsule Training

  • Administration Training: Basic Level

    This course is designed for System Administrators who would like to be self-sufficient in installing, configuring and maintaining the BOARD Server & Client environment.
    Delegates will learn about server architecture and how to install and configure the varying components of the BOARD software such as server, client, office add-in, and web client. Hardware sizing and software parameter configuration for best performance is discussed as well as the different layers of Security maintenance (User Authentication methods and Authorization profiles). We also cover licensing, backup/saving policies, troubleshooting & error logging, and give an overview of some additional technical tools available for administrator and developer users.

    Some of the methods and learnings will be put into practice during the course on a virtual server environment.
