INDORE: A constable stationed at Dewas police station was arrested for allegedly forging fake documents and degrees and presenting it to the police station in-charge.
The constable Shivnarayan Sengar was arrested and produced before a local court on Wednesday. He was taken on a judicial remand till Oct 16.
Sengar was arrested after the number on his name plate showed that he was official of batch number 1589, however, according to SP Abhay Singh, in Dewas there are only 800-900 batch numbers.
"Preliminary investigations have revealed that Sengar's ambition was to join the police force and even after many attempts he was not able to clear the exams," said SP Singh.
Failing in the exams led Sengar to hatch a plan. He forged the documents from a place in Rajasthan and presented it to the police station in-charge in Dewas Industrial area.
"Some of his friends are also in the police force. He learned all the details and about the working of a police station. It would have been very difficult to make out if he was an imposter if his batch number was not found out," said SP Singh. The accused has worked in various districts citing these degrees.
