Farm-to-table, associated with sustainable and community supported agriculture, attempts to create a link between customers, farmers and farm communities.
JW Marriott joined hands with this effort, through its recently introduced Sunday Brunner. The PBC walkway showcased palatable creations with farm fresh ingredients, vegetables and fruits which were prepared in front of the patrons on live counters. Alto Vino boasted of a delightful Italian spread accompanied with wines and champagnes and Shakahari dished out the ambrosial vegetarian pan Asian delicacies. Speaking about the initiative Chef Ajmal Salim, executive chef, JW Marriott Pune, said, "This concept is internationally popular but a very new concept in India where our aim is to serve each guest the food, in its freshest form possible. The whole idea is to keep the dishes and the eating experience as close to nature as possible and at the same time it is an effort to bring the end customer closer to the farmer." Spotted at the do were, Rohit and Pranati Tilak, Punit Tejwani and Pradeep Apte among others.
