Mum given parenting order by court.
A LOCKWOOD mum has appeared in court after her teenage son missed many of his classes.
The 39-year-old pleaded guilty to two charges of knowlingly having a child who failed to attend regularly at school.
The boy was aged 15 when the offences started last May.
Hamza soren, prosecuting on behalf of Kirklees Council, said that at one stage his attendance was only 43%.
The teen's mother said that he did not wish to go to school.
Kirklees magistrates heard that she had lost work in her efforts to get him to attend.
They made a 12-month parenting order, which is designed to offer support and guidance to address issues and help the child get to school every day.
The mother must also pay PS200 towards prosecution costs and PS15 victim surcharge.
