Police: Motorist caused fatal accident by cutting on to highway.

An motorist has died after his car ploughed into a vehicle that had cut in front of him on Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in Ajman.

Colonel Ali Humaid, director of Traffic and Patrols at Ajman Police said that the accident happened on Thursday morningwhen the 51-year-old Emirati motorist was driving at high speed when another vehicle cut the road in front of him.

"An Asian motorist in Toyota Fortuner joined the road from a petrol station without paying attention and cut in front of the Emirati motorist," said Humaid.

He couldn't avoid the impact and his vehicle flipped and rolled four times.

Humaid said the car caught fire, but police arrived and pulled the man from the burning car.

However, he died on arrival at hospital due to his serious injuries.

"It is the Asian motorist's mistake as he entered a road without making sure if it was empty or not.

"His vehicle was slightly damaged and he has been arrested on suspicion of causing the death to the other motorist, and his file has been transferred to traffic prosecution to finish the investigation," Humaid added.
