• A Camera on Gallipoli thumbnail image

    In 2014–15 the Memorial will tour a small travelling exhibition that showcases photographs of Anzac drawn from an extraordinary private collection assembled during the Gallipoli campaign.

  • After spending over three weeks during October 2011 talking to Australian servicemen and women in Afghanistan, Ben Quilty felt an overwhelming need to tell their stories.

  • Behind the front lines of the Somme, Vignacourt was a staging point, casualty clearing station and recreation area for troops. Captured on glass, printed into postcards and posted home, these photographs enabled Australian soldiers to maintain a fragile link with loved ones in Australia.
