Quickly and permanently fasten cabel tie mounts to metal without drilling or any other surface preparation. Just place the TackMount on the tip of a Gripnail pneumatic tool, position and impact directly into base metal such as steel, aluminum and cast iron. The TackMount is manufactured from a special impact resistance plastic with a pre-inserted hardened steel MetalTackTM and are available in white or black. No more drilling holes for screws or surface prepping for adhesives.
A TackMount forms a quick, permanent, mechanical attachment without the need for any surface preparation. Adhesive fasteners are not always permanent and may require surface cleaning. Screw, bolts and rivets all require a hole in the base material. Creating this hole is time consuming and drill chips may get into electrical connections or mechanical components. A TackMount fastens in a single impact operation.
A standard TackMount is manufactured from a carbon steel MetalTack, and are zinc chromate plated. It will pass a minimum 120-hour salt spray test in accordance with ASTM B117. They may be driven into base metals as hard as HRB90.
A stainless steel MetalTack is manufactured from a 400 series stainless teel and are nto plated. The fasteners have a small amount of carbon and form slight blush rust after exposure to corrosive environments. They can penetrate base metals as hard as HRB90 as well as many grades of stainless steel.
The tool steel MetalTack is manufactured from a special steel alloy that allows them to become harder and tougher than standard fasteners. A tool steel MetalTack can penetrate materials as hard as HRB100. It is also zinc chromate plated for the same corrosion protection as standard tacks.
A TackMount will fasten to most malleable metals including steel, stainless steel, brass, bronze and aluminum. A TackMount will also fasten to many grades of cast iron and die cast material.

TackMounts are sold in packages of 100 or 1,000 pieces (Part# 20427 or Part# 20427-BK). Install TackMounts with a Flared Tip Drive (Part# 314) and Gripnail single impact Air Tool (Part# 211).
A TackMount is manufactured from DuPont Zytel® ST801, a general purpose Super Tough polyamide 66 resin.
TackMounts have proved valuable in simplifying the design work and creating quick cable securing solutions in our shop. We have just shipped our first #211 Air Tool and TackMount system to be used in the field on one of our job sites. We have also found that we have saved a lot of money from not using tap pads and weld studs.
I am starting design work on a new project and will definitely be calling out for TackMounts only!

Gripnail Tack-Mount Saves Installation Time
I own a small industrial control panel shop in Germantown, WI. I've been in business for over 12 years.
I first used the Tack Mount at one of my customer's for an on site installation and really like the easy and quickness of installation. Normally, if we had to run cables or tubing we would use the Panduit mount by drilling and tapping and bolting them to the frame work of the machine we wire. I just recently used my Gripnail tool on a installation and was able to easily to save at least an hour or two.
