The Director of Birdlife Botswana, Dr Kabelo Senyatso says Government’s subsidised sale of chemicals to farmers for agricultural purposes worsens pollution. Senyatso fired salvos at the government saying the subsidised sale of chemicals has been the reason for the deaths of vultures which have died in large numbers in Botswana.

De Beers has announced that they have signed an agreement with India’s Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) to undertake promotional activities to drive consumer demand for diamond jewellery in India. This campaign will be done during India’s key selling season this year.

Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) has announced that Botswana companies will be participating at the Maputo International and multi-sector fair, FACIM, in Maputo, Mozambique starting August 29th – September 2nd 2016. According to BITC, the export mission is part of its ongoing efforts to assist local companies in accessing outside markets to sell their goods and services.

A Gaborone based Motswana Muslim lawyer is considering to relocate from Botswana on the grounds that she is being discriminated by her colleagues  the public at large due to her Islamic religion 

However Law Society of Botswana (LSB) says it is not aware of any discrimination targeted at Muslim lawyers.
