What Is Certification?

shareslide1

Certification is earned by programs or services that may be based within or associated with a health care organization. For example, a Joint Commission accredited medical center can have Joint Commission certified programs or services within neurological or orthopedics. These programs could be within the medical center or in the community.

What's the Word on Certification?

Palliative care is focused on maximizing quality of life for seriously ill patients and their families. Over 1500 leading U.S. hospitals today have a palliative care team, and Joint Commission recognition of the importance of palliative care to overall quality of care represents a giant step forward for the field.
