The Saint-Gobain PAM plant in Bayard-sur-Marne (France) celebrated its 500th anniversary in 2013.

Saint-Gobain is a multiregional organization serving local markets. Today, solutions and services created and distributed locally account for more than 70% of its sales. Thoughout its operations and partnerships, the Group contributes to its host regions’ social and economic vibrancy.

Saint-Gobain Développement

In France, the Group's presence is the most concentrated so it created Saint-Gobain Développement, an internal structure which supports local development and the revitalization of job catchment areas. 

Local outreach initiatives

Community development 

Saint-Gobain encourages its team members to get involved in solidarity actions. Group Activities, companies and sites launch initiatives to participate in local community development. Foundations have been created in certain countries or Activities to take action locally.

The Saint-Gobain Corporation Foundation

In North America, the Saint-Gobain Corporation Foundation supports initiatives in the communities in which its employees live and work. One example is the Foundation’s partnership with YouthBuild USA, a non-profit organization that helps young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods by providing training in sustainable construction and renovation techniques. Saint-Gobain employees volunteer their time to provide assistance and advice.

The Saint-Gobain India Foundation

In India, the Saint-Gobain India Foundation focuses on educational projects for the least well-off, particularly young girls. It also is involved in learning, healthcare and environmental initiatives.

Activity Foundations in France

Both the Fondation PAM and the Fondation Placoplatre® support local initiatives, notably to promote youth employment.
