About Us

For more than 30 years we have become the trusted source for free resources and education for the entire stroke community. We develop programs across the full continuum of stroke—prevention, acute treatment, and rehabilitation.

  • We promote life-saving stroke information
  • We provide objective and credible information
  • We impact survivor empowerment and stroke community quality of life
  • We give voice to those denied their rights because of stroke

National Stroke Association provides stroke education and programs to stroke survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. We believe that caregivers and the survivor’s circle of support are the core to their recovery. Our programs and material are provided to the stroke community for free.

The National Stroke Association was founded in 1984 as the only national association devoted 100% to support stroke rehabilitation and prevention efforts.

National Stroke Association is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and led by CEO Robyn Moore. It is supported by a dedicated staff and headquartered in Centennial, Colorado.

National Stroke Association is a 501 (c)(3) based in Centennial, Colorado and serves a national audience. Our mission is fulfilled through donations, healthcare individual and facility memberships, and grants.
