Fluoroscopy is a continuous X-ray image displayed on a monitor, allowing for real-time monitoring of a procedure or passage of a contrast agent (“dye”) through the body.  Fluoroscopy is used in both mobile surgical C-arms and fixed systems for cardiac angiography, neuro angiography, and interventional vascular radiography. Fluoroscopy is used where real-time examination of the patient’s body is required.

Some examples include:

  • Barium X-ray and enemas to view the gastrointestinal tract
  • Catheter insertion and manipulation
  • Placement of devices within the body such as stents
  • Angiograms
  • Orthopedic surgery

At Varex, we offer a variety of high-performing fluoroscopy X-ray tubes to produce high quality images. With a high-speed rotor design and a variety of focal spot sizes, we have the solution you need for your dynamic imaging needs.

Varex Imaging was among the first companies in the world to bring to market a flat panel detector capable of real-time fluoroscopic imaging. Our fluoroscopic flat panels feature complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology. Features of using advanced CMOS image sensor technology include low noise, high speed, high resolution, compact form factor, and low image lag. CMOS technology enables system manufacturers the ability to produce more efficient fluoroscopy systems.

For fluoroscopy software, Varex offers Nexus DRF. A powerful multi-purpose digital imaging system, Nexus-DRF combines R&F and DR capabilities on one imaging platform using the Varex 4343CB flat panel detector.

Nexus DRF brings Varex Imaging’s years of experience in digital imaging technology together with Varex Imaging’s unrivaled flat panel technology to provide a system that is a true value add for your R&F imaging needs.

To complete your DR system, Varex offers Claymount high voltage connector, collimators, bucky systems, and AEC sensors.
