Nick Hardin

Nicholas Hardin

Chief Executive Officer

With more than 15 years in healthcare, consisting of both clinical and operational roles, Nick Hardin brings a solid understanding of overall hospital operations to HealthSouth Sugar Land Rehabilitation Hospital. He has served in a variety of leadership roles including business development, inpatient operations and outpatient areas. Nick has a clinical background in critical care nursing. He has a master’s degree in healthcare and business administration, and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Ralph Mancini

Ralph Mancini

Medical Director

Dr. Mancini brings more than 20 years of experience to HealthSouth Sugar Land Rehabilitation Hospital. He currently practices at Memorial Hermann Katy Rehabilitation Hospital, Kindred and Select Specialty Long Term Acute Care facilities and skilled nursing facilities in west Houston. Dr. Mancini previously assisted in facilitating the opening of Katy Rehabilitation Hospital where he acted as medical director, and he has also served as medical director at Rosewood Hospital’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. He holds a medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Ralph Mancini is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.

Lisa Calvo

Lisa Calvo

Director of Quality and Risk Management

Lisa  brings more than 10 years of healthcare experience to the HealthSouth Sugar Land team as the director of quality and risk management. Prior to joining the Sugar Land team, she worked in several settings including long term acute care and behavioral health, managing ancillary services, health information, quality and medical staff services. Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Houston Clear Lake and her master’s degree in business administration from Texas Women’s University. Lisa is passionate about quality outcomes, process improvement and standardization in healthcare.

Lisiane Church

Lisiane Church

Director of Case Management

Lisiane Church joined the HealthSouth Sugar Land Rehabilitation Hospital team in November of 2014 and serves as the Director of Case Management. She obtained her Doctorate degree from The University of Houston in Philosophy and Social Work. She is a Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years of healthcare experience. Lisiane was a lead administrator for Medicare Certification and Joint Commission Survey at the Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire. In 2007, she was a Nominee for Outstanding Field Instructor at the University of Houston (Graduate College of Social Work - GCSW). Lisiane is passionate about improving patient and family experiences at HealthSouth and provides the appropriate resources for the patients to be able to discharge home with their family.

Sheila Fitzgerald

Shelia Fitzgerald

Human Resources Director

Shelia Fitzgerald brings more than 18 year of human resources experience to HealthSouth Sugar Land Rehabilitation Hospital and has extensive healthcare experience. She graduated from LeTourneau University with a master’s degree in business administration. Before moving to Texas Shelia lived in New York City. She is a member of Society for Human Resources management (SHRM).
Matthew Hall

Matthew Hall

Maintenance Manager and Safety Officer

Matthew joined the HealthSouth Sugar Land Rehabilitation Hospital team in July of 2014 and serves as the maintenance manager and safety officer. Matt has more than five years of experience in both the residential and commercial construction and healthcare facilities management. Prior to joining HealthSouth, he worked for North Cypress Medical Center and Perry Homes in management capacities. Matt regularly volunteers his time and knowledge for community construction projects for nonprofit organizations, dedicating himself for the care of others. Matthew was born and raised in Cypress, Texas, and has earned his Bachelor of Science in construction science from Texas A&M University, College Station.

Tesha MCray

Tesha McCray

Director of Pharmacy

Tesha McCray serves as the director of pharmacy at HealthSouth Sugar Land Rehabilitation Hospital. She has been a registered pharmacist for 18 years after receiving her bachelor's degree in pharmacy at Texas Southern University in 1995. She has a vast amount of experience in multiple pharmacy settings including ambulatory care, long term care and hospital. Tesha is an active member of The American Society of Hospital Pharmacists.
Christy Medlin

Christy Medlin

Director of Marketing

Christy Medlin comes to HealthSouth with more than 18 years of experience in healthcare, consisting of both clinical and marketing roles. Christy brings a solid understanding of customer service and a patient satisfaction focus to HealthSouth Sugar Land Rehabilitation Hospital. She has served in a variety of leadership roles professionally and in the community, including business development in skilled nursing, hospice, home health and inpatient nursing. Christy has a clinical background starting out her career as a CNA  then graduated as an LVN from Gadsden State Nursing School in 2001.
Steve Midgett

Steve Midgett

Chief Nursing Officer

Steve Midgett is a registered nurse with more than 19 years of nursing experience, 17 of those years in nursing management. He earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing at Drexel University in Philadelphia. His master's degree is in nursing leadership and management. Steve's nursing background is in intensive care, and he has been certified in critical care for 15 years. In 2012, he earned Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing (CRRN®).
Carol Neilson-Beale

Carol Neilson

Controller

Carol joined the HealthSouth team as controller in August of 2013. She is a certified public accountant and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Angelo State University. Carol has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and financial management for private, public and non-profit organizations.

Laura Renshaw

Laura Renshaw

Food and Nutrition Manager

Laura comes to HealthSouth with more than 10 years of food service management. She received her degree from Le Cordon Bleu College in Austin, Texas, as an executive chef of culinary arts. Laura has experience in various capacities that now represent her broad knowledge of food service operations and management. Laura started her culinary career in fine dining restaurants in South Texas in 2004. She then transitioned to food service management with Aramark Services, working in a variety of healthcare settings. Prior to joining the HealthSouth team, Laura worked as a chef for the Houston Methodist System. Laura’s passion for impeccable food and top notch service standards make her a great asset to the HealthSouth team.

Bindu Varghese

Bindu Varghese

Director of Therapy Operations

Bindu Varghese has more than ten years experience as an occupational therapist (OT), four of those as a lead OT at the HealthSouth Sugar Land Rehabilitation location. Bindu earned her bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, as well as her master's degree in business administration from Texas Woman's University. She has a vast knowledge of both geriatric and pediatric populations. Bindu co-championed the hospital in getting their Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification in Stroke Rehabilitation, and she led the team to receive their Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification in Hip Fracture Rehabilitation. In Bindu's position as a lead OT her leadership capabilities and passion for returning patients to their highest level of function always shines.
