Sheet for thermoformed and fabricated close-out seal assemblies meets Boeing flammability requirement

Boltaron's new soft-touch 8800 grade of thermoplastic sheet for thermoformed and fabricated close-out seal assemblies meets Boeing flammability requirement BMS 8-86M Type V.

This proprietary, flexible ABS/PVC alloy is readily thermoformed, brake formed, sawn, routed and drilled using conventional tools, as well as heat welded, adhesive bonded and mechanically fastened without cracking, allowing the production of parts designed to hide, span, couple, protect or otherwise complement aircraft interior close-out seals.

The sheet is offered in gauges from .030 to .125 in. (.76 to 3.18 mm) in standard sizes of 50 x 99 in. (127 x 251 cm) in high-gloss custom colors to match the seal color.

Standard textures include Crush, Falmuth, Haircell, Industrial Smooth, Morocco and Suede. Unlimited custom textures are available with low minimums.

Parts formed and fabricated of Boltaron 8800 sheet can be adhesive bonded, mechanically fastened, or affixed to urethane foam close-out seals using hook-and-loop fastening systems to improve the appearance, impactresistance and abrasionresistance of the seal area.
