Tradition meets innovation
The development of KUKA as a company has been remarkable: founded in 1898 by Johann Josef Keller and Jakob Knappich as the Augsburg Acetylene Factory, the company is now the market leader in the production of industrial robots and automated systems and plants.
The KUKA philosophy
KUKA employs around 12,000 people in more than 30 countries. They all have one thing in common: their passion for KUKA as a company and its technological innovation. KUKA employees do not simply perform a role. They are enthused by the new aspects of their tasks on a daily basis, showing that they quite literally have “orange blood”.
Despite the size of the company, KUKA has the characteristics of a medium-sized company. The company’s hierarchies are flat and responsibility at KUKA rests with a wide range of individuals. KUKA has been successfully making its mark as a global player since the mid-1990s. That being said, strengthening our locations in Germany is very important to us. For this reason, we invest in modern workstations here on a continuous basis. The best evidence for this is our new Development and Technology Center in Augsburg, which was completed at the end of 2015.
Accolades for KUKA as an employer
KUKA is an attractive and responsible employer – it’s not only our employees who think that. We are proud of various certificates we have received from independent inspection bodies, including the following awards: Universum: Ideal employer in Germany, Universum: Germany’s most popular employers, Trendence: Top 100 employers and Trendence: Top 100 employers in IT.
Since 2010 we have held the “berufundfamilie” (work/life balance) audit seal of approval for our family-oriented staffing policy. KUKA also places great importance on responsible staffing policies and is a member of the Fair Company Initiative.
