Smart Cities: Saint-Gobain exhibits its vision for the 21st century city in Singapore

Saint-Gobain took part in a discussion day called “Smart Cities: Which visions and models for the 21st century,” in Singapore as part of the Le Monde – Smart Cities international urban innovation awards ceremony.

During the “Habitat, spaces, time frames” roundtable, Emmanuel Normant, Vice President for Sustainable Development, Saint-Gobain, presented the Group’s vision of the smart city that begins with building occupants’ comfort and wellbeing and sits at the heart of its strategy. The event was also an opportunity to present, through the video presentation by Didier Roux, Vice President, Research & Development and Innovation, Saint-Gobain, the Group’s research on materials science and the importance given to individuals’ perception of comfort using the “comfort-meter.” This little box allows users to record the physical parameters of light, noise, humidity and temperature, and to link them to their own feeling of comfort.
