Former Anderson County Jail employee arrested in connection with unlawful sexual relations

A former corrections officer at the Anderson County Jail was arrested Monday in connection with unlawful sexual relations.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation in January began investigating allegations against Lexington J. Laiter, 27, at the request of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

Laiter was arrested at his home in Garnett in connection with 11 counts of unlawful sexual relations and two counts of attempted unlawful sexual relations, which allegedly occurred while he was a jail employee. He was booked into the Osage County Jail.

According to the KBI, Laiter was hired as a jail employee in February 2013. He was fired in December 2016.
