This weekend, the Topeka LULAC Senior Center will present two showings of the PBS documentary “Dolores.”

Dolores Huerta is an American activist who with Cesar Chavez co-founded the first farm workers unions. Huerta fought for racial and labor justice alongside Chavez, becoming one of the most defiant feminists of the 20th century. She continues the fight to this day at age 87.

With intimate and unprecedented access to Huerta, the film reveals the personal sacrifices involved in committing one’s life to social change.

The showings are at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Jayhawk Theatre, 720 S.W. Jackson St. Tickets cost $12 and are available at the LULAC Senior Center. All ticket proceeds go to Topeka LULAC Senior Center for senior activities.

Booths, sponsorships and donations are available. For information, contact Lesley Hayward at (785) 224-8582.
