No worries, “Where there is a will there is a way”. With a small amount of programming knowledge, you may trace many bugs on wordpress. And now I have faced one such bug with Visual Editor Plugin, formally called as Tiny MCE plugin. Firstly let me give you a brief explanation about my experience on this.
After a long gap I have started my blogging and logged in with much enthusiasm to write few posts which I ‘ve scheduled. But unfortunately when I enter the text in content editor in the post, there is nothing shows and the text which I am entering is purely white font.
In order to change the font, I have no Tiny MCE options. That’s a chaos situation I had. The result of this is I delayed my blog topics to publish and got wasted my time. Every time I got this problem of any kind of plugins and themes, just as the other software developer I search Google. I got many search results stating that
- File Zilla to be configured to fix this problem
- Need to have few code changes in wp-config file
- Change the browser or clear cache and cookies
Including the above points I got few other topics to implement. Truth is that Software IT professionals are gifted to implement all the possible outcomes in order to fix these bugs. In the journey we will learn multiple topics to resolve one issue.
And now I don’t want to waste your time by explaining my background more. Finally discovered solution for the problem. I wish I would share this to help you on your bug. Here you go!

There are three possible solutions to Fix Missing Visual Editor problem
1. Clear your Browser Cache and Cookies
Yes! most frequent issues on internet may be resolved by clearing your cache and cookies of the browser you are using. This can be resolved your issue if it is a temporary one. Other alternative for this is, use a different browser and check.
2. Replace the plugin folder in File Manager
Another solution for this problem is, if the above solution doesn’t works go to the below path
public_html/yourwebsite.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce
and replace the folder tinymce. This works maximum for sure. Otherwise goto the next step.
3. Add script to your wp-config file
The Wp-config file is used to configure the site setting manually whenever needed. All the thing we do is, should add a small script of code in starting of the wp-config file.
Open your file manager, go to wp-config.php file and paste the below code in the starting header.
define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);
This will definitely fix the problem. Reports says that 90% of the people got resolved the issue by implementing this.
Bonus Tip
Additionally, the bonus tip is if you are running multiple sites with the same hosting plan, then your work is very simple. Just goto the folder tinymce of the other site which the plugin works fine.
- Zip all the files with a name and download the file.
- Just goto the tinymce folder of the site which got affected and upload the zip file you downloaded before.
- Unzip all the files after you upload the zip file. That’s it. This will definitely work and I did the same which worked for me.
