The 211 member associations of FIFA are the backbone of world football. In order to fulfill their national mandate to organize and develop football countrywide, the solidity and sustainability of their governance structures are the first priority. FIFA supports the members in the revision and adaptation of these structures.
The objective of any FIFA development activity is to ultimately improve the football experience of those who wish to play the game. Building the skills and capacities of the individuals responsible for providing this football experience is therefore key to this objective.
Our aim is to provide top-level medical services at FIFA tournaments, to keep football free from doping, and to protect and improve the health of all who play football, from grassroots to elite level around the world.
The CIES is an independent study centre located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. It was created in 1995 as a joint venture between FIFA, the University of Neuchâtel and the City and State of Neuchâtel.
