A Dynamic Production
presenting fearlessly a point of view
 both Catholic and rightly independent

Christian Order is a British international monthly devoted to the defence and propagation of the One True Faith - Catholic, Apostolic and Roman - through incisive comment on current affairs in Church and State; at home and abroad.

January Editorial  FAITHLESS

Since Modernism has synthesised all the ancient heresies, the list of Catholic doctrines not believed by prelates gathered under its heretical umbrella is very lengthy indeed. Manifested in heinous episcopal sins of omission and commission routinely committed over several decades (and counting), pointing out this suffocating blanket of unbelief might seem like a trite statement of the obvious. Yet papolatry-trickling-down-to-episcopolatry is a stubborn Catholic mindset.

January Feature  CANTERBURY CORRECTED: 1

Dear Mr Welby: when you pontificate politically, it can be left to the Daily Mail or Daily Telegraph to correct you, but in your Evening Standard article you have insidiously attacked the Holy, Roman, Catholic and Apostolic Church that is the one, true Church. Somehow, you or maybe a ghost-writer has managed to get history and theology and liturgy wrong as well as art, science, publishing and economics. It is vital to correct you, and to re-issue the correction whenever your make further sweeping generalisations or accusations on any subject, religious or political, so that laymen (in either sense) can immediately gauge your credibility.

February Editorial  THE GATHERING STORM

Et voilà, the heart of the matter in countries all over: Elites blaming ordinary people, for problems that the same elites have caused. Elites never being held accountable for their incompetence. And elites never having to experience the conditions that their failed ideas cause. Yet it is not the Vicar of Christ on earth confronting the perfect anti-Christian storm they have created, but the likes of Trump, Orbán and Salvini who have become the beacons in the political, cultural, moral and religious battles; champions of the identity of peoples and Christian civilisation. Shame on Francis!

February Feature  CANTERBURY CORRECTED: 2

You suggest that Christians were killing each other on religious grounds before the Reformation, after which it got worse. The historical facts are otherwise, including the fact that heresies (breakaways from Catholicism) before Protestantism involved little territorial war. … Remember, the readership of the Evening Standard ranges from atheists and pagans to heretics and Catholics, including semi-educated Catholics who cannot be expected to have a close knowledge of history and/or other subjects that you mention. Therefore, you have misled them all in a frantic and feeble attempt to do PR for the ruinous Reformation and salvage some respectability from it.

March Editorial  CAFOD vs. POOR CHARITIES

CAFOD scandals accumulate year on year. Meanwhile, Christian Order has now received a copy of the financial survey, originating in Arundel & Brighton, that compares representative Catholic charities in England and Wales. The 2017 statistics show six charities, most being active overseas, ranging from the largest to the pontifical Missionary Servants of the Poor [MS], whose UK income was £52,500. Although no comment is provided, on the basis of the bare facts and figures which suggest a wasteful monopoly, readers can come to but one familiar conclusion: the hierarchy should derail and dissolve its CAFOD gravy train.

March Feature  A FRATERNAL REBUKE

If by “clericalist model of the Church” Bishop Long means that priests and bishops are in the leadership of Christ’s Church then we have to realise that this model is of the Lord’s own design, not our own. The clericalist model of the Church is not the cause of sexual abuse nor of any other sin or negligence on the part of the clergy. The cause of a priest’s failure to faithfully exercise his ministry is the same priest’s failure to be united with Christ, especially through the Blessed Sacrament, for it is this union with the Lord which bestows the strength and grace to be faithful in all things to Christ.

March Bonus Feature  THE ROOTS OF EU LAW

The first President of the powerful European Commission, Dr. Walter Hallstein, had a profound effect on the way in which the powers of the European Economic Community would develop and be applied. Even with the totalitarian power of the Nazi dictatorship, Professor Hallstein understood and explained during his 1939 lecture before Nazi dignitaries at the University of Rockstock, that legal unification had to be a gradual, cumulative process – just as was later practiced more circumspectly in the “engrenage” method employed by the European project, suppressing democracy in member states and replacing it by the central diktat of the European Union bit by bit.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we ask Thy blessing on our efforts. Show us the way to spread the Truth of the Catholic faith in the midst of error and infidelity. Fill our hearts with authentic love for our priests, bishops, pope and all the clergy, a love that moves us to unceasing prayer for their souls and to constant exhortation to faithfully fulfill their sacred task of preaching the whole truth of the Catholic faith without compromise. Grant us wisdom in our deliberations, courage in exposing error and corruption, and humility and charity in all the things we do. Bless our Holy Father with the wisdom and holiness to discern and carry out Thy Will, and the loyalty and fidelity of bishops, priests and all Religious in helping him carry out this task. May Thy will be done in all things.

We ask this through the intercession of our Holy Mother Mary.
