Handbooks

Our handbooks are designed to contain all the information you need in one well-structured document. We make sure to provide you with a concise reference booklet covering your particular subject.

Job aids

We design instructional tools that allow learners to quickly remember or access information as the need-to-know arises. Strong visual components on instructional cards, charts or posters give a large amount of information at one glance.

Apps

Learning apps can be used differently depending on the learners’ needs. It can include gamification tools, responsive online courses, just-in-time resources and sharing spaces. An app can also be made in a way that once it is downloaded, it is available offline.

Communities of practice

Learning is more sustainable in the community. We create online community learning and sharing spaces for peer-exchange, coaching, mentoring and long-term learning support. The online communities allow the participants to have more flexibility that facilitates a long-term commitment.

Example projects

Comic Books

UNITAR has developed engaging comic books in French and Spanish for its projects with youth in Colombia and the DRC. The comics are meant to support communities, families and young people to better protect children at risk of being (re-)recruited by armed groups and criminal gangs. Read or download them below:

Facilitation Toolbox

UNITAR Facilitation Toolbox builds on the specific expertise of UNITAR and brings together contributions from the Institute’s different units and programmes, as well as external partners. It focuses on how to design and deliver adult training and professional learning; how to monitor and evaluate their impact on behaviour; and how to capitalize on capacity development.

The Toolbox is presented as a practice-oriented, easy to use repository of knowledge and techniques to support you with the design and delivery of training. It is composed of seven chapters – each answering a specific question – plus the appendices. The Toolbox is available in English and French.

The Toolbox addresses both non-experienced and experienced trainers. If you are new to the field of training, this Toolbox will provide you with guidance and structure to get a grasp of the basics of the instructional process. If you are more experienced, you may find particularly useful the tips and tricks presented throughout the pages, the wide variety of methodologies and the various templates.
