Blog Post: April 05, 2013So timely (for me) that it's scary. I've been conducting keyword research for an architecture firm working with us, and these local results for queries without geo-modifiers became a big factor in what I recommended.
I agree with you that reviews will only gain in importance. It's a critical set of social signals that businesses can't afford to ignore. That being said, it concerns me that reviews are becoming as important as they are when the online review world seems somewhat unregulated - Yelp stands the most accused of this ("the yelp mafia") but it doesn't seem that they've been cracked down on.
