Roadmap

Stage 1: Starting out, Missables & Contracts

This first stage should be focusing on 4 main trophies which can be unlocked in the beginning 2 maps of the game in Michigan.

After completing the tutorial you will get a truck, unlock a garage then go to Alaska. As soon as you can go back to Michigan as you do not need to be in Alaska. Drive around the map and open it up by visiting watchtowers, when doing this pick up the visible upgrades and the hidden upgrades which can be seen in Bronze Moose Hunt.

Once the upgrades are done you can start on the contracts. Keep a lookout for the trophy  Bronze Goliath as it is highly recommended to unlock on the contract called "Pipe Dream" in Michigan.

When you get the Fleetstar truck, INSTEAD of recovering it to the garage which will repair it automatically, follow Bronze Broken Horse which will save a lot of time, if you miss this you can do it again in Russia.

Finally, this would be a good area to think about Bronze Untouchable as the missions are quite easy, however, you can do it at any point in the game.

Stage 2: New Maps, Regions and more Contracts

This stage is open for however you want to play. The game is quite long so you will have many opportunities to collect out of the way trophies. It is recommended to focus on opening up all maps and collecting the upgrades first as it is easier to know what is on the map and the truck upgrades give items like more powerful engines, raised suspension, etc. Once that is done, focus on starting and completing all of the contracts. While in the mid-game stage you are mostly earning more gold stars to get access to better trucks.

Stage 3: The Grind

This is the main part of the game. It's estimated this will take you 75 - 100 hours if playing solo, it would be much quicker if playing co-op but the current state of the game is very buggy and it would be safer to play in solo. If using the money exploit it will also shave off a lot of time, the exploit is linked under Tips & Strategies below.

In this stage, you will be reaching the maximum level of 30 (with 26 being the last level needed for trophies). While working towards leveling up,  you'll be finishing all task(s)/contests/contracts that you have left. There are over 200 of them so it will take some time." You can play however you want as there is no time limit on any mission, even the contest timers are not important as Gold Ain't no rest for the...trucker? only requires you to complete the contests, not get gold rank.

Keep an eye on Silver What's a mile? and Silver  Western Wind as they will require you to deliver 10 cargoes with a Russian truck in North America and a North American truck in Russia. While they are not missable it will be easier to do them with a lot of mission choices still available.

The Bronze Simply Delivered trophy will unlock when you are completing all missions however you are welcome to single the missions out that deliver the specific cargo needed for this trophy.

Now is the time to finish any trophies that you have to specifically work for. They are not tied to any missions so have no time limit and can be done whenever you want.

Tips & Strategies

Below are some tips that may help you when playing the game.

Glitches & Crashes

There have been continued reports on all platforms about the game not being optimized, missions breaking, or glitching preventing you from completing them or even locking you out of a trophy even if you have met the requirements. It is recommended that you make regular manual saves on USB or back up to the cloud to help minimize this. Single-player seems to be more stable than co-op play.

Paths

The shortest route to finish the objective is not always the best route to take. If you try this all the time you will get burned. A lot. Many hours have been wasted by tipping trucks over and then needing to drive all the way back with a crane to try and fix the damage. Many of the maps roads are deceptively slanted so it is very easy to tip over. If you feel the road will become dangerous, drop into low low or low high gear to get more traction and control of your vehicle.

Hauling Loads

Just because a truck or trailer only has 2, 3, or 4 slots for cargo does not mean you have to stick to it. A common practice is to use the self loading crane and a flatbed on your truck and double stack it and then use the crane to push down the top layer and off you go. take it careful as it will be more unstable but it may save you a second or third trip.

Winching

Winching is a big part of this game. ALL trucks come with a winch which you can use to pull you out of tricky situations or pull out other trucks. You can haul up to 4 things with 1 winch. The truck you are driving plus its trailer can then be winched onto another truck with its own trailer. The amount of weight you can carry is quite high, especially with the later game heavy-duty trucks. Think outside of the box! If playing co-op it is important to note that you can not use 2 winches on 1 truck (currently) like you could in Mud Runner.

Fuel & Repair

Refueling and repairing your vehicles at a fuel station or garage is free so take advantage of it. Some service centers/warehouses will also automatically repair your vehicle for you when driving over the loading zone. In saying that when traveling to a new map that you have not explored it is recommended that you take a fuel trailer with you and plant them around different spots in the map. Fuel trailers range from 900 to 9000 liters so you can fill up multiple times with it. You can refuel your own trucks with functions by pressing Up while alongside the fuel tanker.

Trailer Stores

Trailers in the game sell for the same price as what you bought them so they are essentially free. If you do not have a petrol/gas station or fuel trailer near you and you have a trailer store, pop in and buy a fuel and/or repair trailer. fix yourself up then sell it again and go on your way.

Personal Roadmap

I just thought I'd add my personal roadmap here in case anyone wanted to know what vehicles etc I used, you do not have to follow this by any means. My first goal was to unlock every map and get watchtowers/upgrades done, I did this with a fully upgraded Chevy CK1500 scout & scout fuel trailer which I think handled everything quite well.

I would recommend that you go to Alaska and travel to Pedro Bay to find the ANK MK38 which you just have to drive up too and it will unlock, it is an extremely good truck that doesn't even know snow is there most of the time, it can help propel you easily into mid-game territory.

I also recommend that you go to Drowned Lands in Russia/Taymyr and get the Tayga 6436. Again its a very good truck that will help you through mostly everything, with the added bonus of being able to have all of the frame add-ons. To get the Tayga you will need to refuel and repair it. Both Trucks can be acquired pretty much immediately after the tutorial.

The other trucks I stick to are the Azov 64131 as I believe it has the best fuel economy in the game and has all the frame addons so it is my main hauling truck for everything, the only downside is that it is quite slow. For scout I used the Chevy above until I found all the upgrades for the International Loadstar 1700. I think it is the best scout by far, very quick and agile, it holds 130L fuel with 100L refuel&repair; add-on. If I needed some serious pulling power it would be the KOLOB 74760, the big caterpillar or the Antarctic.

Finally, this game is designed to be played on co-op and will shed the platinum time down considerably with friends in the game, be cautious of bugs and make a regular manual save backup and you will be okay.

Most places have no more than a few pumpkins scattered around. The only location believed to have 2 pumpkin patches is in Drowned Lands in Russia which you can visit at any time. They seem to respawn naturally, but the respawn time is unknown, so leave a vehicle there and come back to it every now and then.

"To reset its state you can save the game by exiting to the menu, then quitting the game with system menu and opening the game back up - the pumpkins will be back. You can also do it in the coop - create coop session, get to the field, run the pumpkins over, quit session, create new session - the pumpkins are back, rinse repeat"

To crush the pumpkins under the truck just drive over the top of them.

It is highly recommended that you unlock this trophy near the start of the game. There is a contract in Smithfield Dam under Dyson Diesel called "Pipe Dream". This mission MUST be active while doing this trophy. Drive to the large green fuel tanker with a heavy crane truck and lift it up as high as you can. The video below will help if you need it.

It is said you can get this trophy using the "Oil Rig Salvage Semi-Trailer", which is used in multiple missions.

Drive through a lot of water to earn this trophy. There is water in every map in the game, and you will be drive through it a lot. Most likely you'll get this trophy while completing the first map.
Where are the logs?
Visit every logging area in the game at least once

This trophy requires you to visit every area that has logs in it. Both sawmills and log stations are needed, make sure you drive inside the area in a loop to confirm that the game has registered it. A zone will pop up that will let you collect wood if it has triggered.

There is a sawmill that has lost power in Zimnegorsk and a Lumber Mill in Island Lake, it is possible that these need to be powered on for it to count so finish the missions required for it just in case.

Michigan:

  • Black River - 1 Sawmill
  • Island Lake -  1 Sawmill & 1 Log Station
  • Drummond Island - 1 Log Station

Alaska:

  • North Port - 1 Sawmill & 1 Log Station
  • Mountain River - 1 Sawmill

You can check your % for the trophy by pressing  Down at any time and go to the trophies tab.

Deliver all 3 Oil Rigs to their destination points in Alaska

Delivering 3 Oil Rigs is not an easy task and it's not recommended that you do it until you have the Caterpillar 745C or the Azov 42-20 Antarctic and another heavy-duty truck. The heavy-truck will be the truck towing the drill with a high saddle, and the caterpillar/antarctic will be the truck you use to pull you out when you get stuck, which you will. For one of the drill missions, there is a massive mud trap and the only truck that is big enough and heavy enough that can cross it is the caterpillar/antarctic while towing you.

The contracts themselves will be easy to spot in the menu as it will have "drill" in the title. The oil rigs are very long and heavy. When going around corners turn wide as possible. The trailers are big enough to drive right over the guard rail as if there is nothing there so the only thing you need to worry about is rocks and trees.

Once you have delivered all 3 the trophy will pop.

One of the first trophies you will get. All cars/trucks will come with a winch, when driving a car simply press Triangleand face a direction to activate the winch, then hold Triangle to pull yourself.

You can pick specific winch points on your car and what object to winch to if you open the functions menu by pressing Up and selecting "Use Winch".

Manually load at least 4 standard cargo units in your truck one after another and pack them

The trophy description tells you exactly what to do. Get a truck with a crane and a trailer (one that holds at least 4 units) and manually load each cargo onto the truck. once it's all sitting on the truck you can pack the cargo in functions by pressing Up You can do this at any point in the game and might even come naturally while playing.

The easiest way to get this trophy is to find a mission where you need to repair the vehicle to win it. The first chance you get is at the beginning of the game when you unlock the Fleetstar, instead of recovering it to the garage which will automatically repair it. Use a Service Trailer to manually repair everything except for the tires and then drive for 1km.

You will also get a chance in Russia with the Tuz 166.

The longer way would be to drive into guard rails or off cliffs until you pop all the tires, but this method will probably be a pain to do.

"In case you missed the immediate opportunity at the start, there is a task called "Fixer Upper" in Smithville Dam. You can drive it around Smithville Dam garage there is a lot of paved roads so you will cover the 1km with broken wheels fairly fast and easy i.e. 5 minutes tops."

The first Lenin statue is in Drowned Lands at the Factory. The second statue is located at the town in Zimnegorsk which is the 3rd map in Russia. To unlock the other 2 maps in Russia you must first complete the 2 contracts under Taiga Oil called "Geological Exploration" and "Looking Beyond The Horizon".

Get a vehicle with a heavy crane and drive it to the lake near the Smithville Dam exit on the Black River map, next drive a small vehicle into the lake until the water kills the engine. Now just lift the vehicle out with the crane and the trophy will pop.

It is recommended to use the truck you get at the start of the game Chevrolet CK1500 as you can unlock the upgrades pretty early on in the game by finding upgrades or unlocking modifications by level, however you can use any truck you want.

The Azov 42-20 Antarctic is the final Russian truck unlocked at level 26, and the final truck you can buy in the game. It will unlock once you have reached level 26.

You will reach this level naturally towards end game clean up so just keep doing missions and earning Gold Stars (EXP).

It is worth mentioning that this vehicle is not a good vehicle at all. It's not recommended that you do a whole cargo run with it. Use a different vehicle to carry the cargo to the finish location then swap out the truck with the ZiKZ to go the last few meters and trigger the finish.

10 cargoes do not mean any 10 missions random missions. It means any cargo that you fit on a trailer. For example, if a mission requires you to deliver 10 wood planks, that is 4 cargo and 40% of the trophy completed. Once you have delivered 10 cargoes the trophy will pop.

Like the Silver What's a mile trophy where you use a Russian truck in North America, this trophy requires you to use a North American truck in Russia.

10 cargoes do not mean any 10 missions random missions. It means any cargo that you fit on a trailer. For example, if a mission requires you to deliver 10 wood planks, that is 4 cargo and 40% of the trophy completed. Once you have delivered 10 cargoes the trophy will pop.

The Duel
Driving a red-coloured scout vehicle, collide with any truck and take less damage than that truck

As the description states, you will need a red scout vehicle (any will do) and a truck. Pick a truck that has exposed fuel tanks like the White Western Star or the Azov 64131.

Now just slowly drive into the fuel tank with your scout vehicle and you eventually get more damage on the fuel tank than your scout, It might take a few tries.
Fuel Economy
Travel through every region on a single tank of fuel

The trophy description for this is a bit confusing. What it means is you need to drive through each map in a region with 1 tank. So you need to do it 3 times, once for each region, Michigan, Alaska, and Russia.

The easiest path is:
  • Michigan: Black River > Smithville Dam > Island Lake > Drummond Island
  • Alaska: White Valley > North Port > Mountain River > Pedro Bay
  • Russia: Drowned Lands > Quarry > Zimnegorsk

The Russian truck AZOV 64131 to be the best for this, it is slow but it has the best fuel economy in the game and you will easily do it with this truck.

This trophy will require you to finish multiple contracts across all maps in the Alaska region to complete the pipeline. They will be under the Black Bird company and have pipeline in the contract name such as "Pipeline Repair".

"All Along the Watchtower"

There have been reports of this glitching and not unlocking for some people. It is recommended that you unlock these in single-player mode as co-op is what has issues.

When you travel to each new map it will be hidden to you and you will need to visit watchtowers to reveal parts of it. There are 54 watchtowers in the game, all you have to do is drive to them and press Square in the zone to unlock them.

There are 6 garages in the game. 5 can be unlocked by driving to their locations. The final one in Zimnegorsk is only unlocked once you have completed the contract "Key Buildings Restoration" which has the "georesearch" contracts prerequisites to do first.

This is another trophy that sounds hard but is quite easy. The best place to do this trophy is Mountain River in Alaska. The exit to Pedro Bay will be directly north on the same small stretch of highway, when loading into the Mountain River map from North Port, put your vehicle in Low-High gear and hold down the accelerator the whole time until you get to Pedro Bay exit.
Bering Strait
Own a TUZ 420 "Tatarin" and have it stationed in any garage in Alaska

The TUZ 420 "Tatarin" is the APC (amphibian tank looking vehicle). It can be found in Russia on the 3rd map called "Zimnegorsk"

You must complete the prerequisite missions "Geological Exploration" and then "Looking Beyond The Horizon" on the Drowned Lands map. This will unlock access to the second Russia map called Quarry, from there you can drive straight to Zimnegorsk and find the vehicle.

Once collected simply return to your garage and retain your vehicle to send it to Alaska.

The easiest way to do this is to be on Black River map, up on the top left near the Smithville Dam exit/tunnel is a lake, drive a small car or truck into the lake so it is underwater and kills the engine. Now just get another truck and winch the broken car to Smithville Dam and put it in the garage for an easy silver trophy!

There are 40 vehicles in the game, the last one is unlocked at level 26. The money earned from all contracts, tasks, and contests will not earn you enough money to legitimately buy all the trucks plus upgrades to be able to use them effectively and own at the same time if you want one of every vehicle. There was previously a money exploit which helped for this trophy, which has since been patched.

"Once you have all the trucks found/unlocked and have ~200.000 saved up you can get Model Collector by buying and reselling everything. Money is recycled so just buy A, sell A, buy B, sell B, buy C, sell C, buy D.... in the end just buy back and outfit the ones you use the most."

There are 122 tasks and 27 contests to complete in the game. The easiest way to check what tasks or contests you have to complete is to press Down and tab across to the required list. Here you will be able to see what you still have to complete for what region. For this trophy you must complete all task and contests.

This will be the longest trophy and the biggest grind and will most likely be the last trophy you unlock.

This trophy will likely be one of the last you will get, you should be at around 80 - 90% when you are working towards finishing all the tasks and contests. Keep working towards completing all missions and you will get the trophy.
