Find free content & preview paid content

You can find free apps and content throughout Google Play, and you can also preview some paid content.

Note: A form of payment is required for all accounts. Since downloading free content is still considered a transaction (even when the price of the item is $0.00), you may be prompted to add a credit or debit card if you don't already have one in your account. You won't be charged for downloading free content.

Preview in-app subscriptions

Within some Android apps, you'll have the option to purchase a subscription. A subscription is when you pay a recurring fee rather than a one-time price for the content of that app. Some Android apps with subscriptions have a trial period. Keep in mind:

  • Trial subscriptions for Android apps last a minimum of seven days.
  • You'll see if an app has a trial period and how long it is before completing your purchase.
  • If you cancel an app subscription before the trial period ends, you won't be charged.
  • If you do not cancel, you will be automatically billed for the subscription at the end of the trial period.
  • You can only use one trial period per Android app subscription.
