CHM milestones leading up to our 40th year
When Christian Healthcare Ministries started in Oct. 1981, no one could have known how God would use it to bless and minister to so many of His people. CHM began with a definable need, followed by an act of obedience to God’s prompting, resulting in a continuing healthcare cost solution for hundreds of thousands of Christ-followers today.
Going into our 40th year, CHM is true to its founding mission—and we continue to experience historic vibrancy and growth. In addition to being the nation’s longest-serving health cost-sharing ministry, we are recognized as the standard-bearer for health cost sharing. That translates into much more than only monetary value for current and prospective CHM members.
Christian Healthcare Ministries is blessed to serve hundreds of thousands of Christians who rally together to voluntarily share each other's medical bills. The 2020 year brought many trials as the world faced a global pandemic, but also many victories. As CHM enters 40 years of service, we are grateful to share with you many exciting statistics as a recap of what CHM members did for one another in 2020.
Why is CHM unique?
CHM was the nation’s first health cost sharing ministry. As the pioneers of this model and as its standard-bearer, our obligation is to continue setting the standard. New way to use Bring-a-Friend to help those in need
For members who have accumulated one or more free months of membership, and are looking for ways to help fellow Christians during these uncertain times, CHM is introducing a new, easy way to assist members who are struggling to pay their monthly gift amount.
Members can donate one or more of their BAF monthly credits to a member who has been economically affected due to COVID-19. CHM staff assesses each member in need and will assign monthly credit(s) to one or more members to help them catch up their CHM membership account. Donating credits is simple and no exchange of funds is necessary. Simply click the link below and provide CHM staff with your member number and the number of eligible credits you'd like to donate to the Disaster Relief Fund.
Five things you should know about CHM and COVID-19
As a CHM member, you’re part of a body of believers who serve as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Even when there’s no crisis at hand, every day we see members caring for each other. During extraordinary times, we've seen CHM members make extraordinary gestures of Christian love and goodwill. It’s our honor to glorify God by continued service to you, just as we have done for nearly 40 years.
…and we haven’t stopped since all of this began. We know that God has a plan and purpose for everything, but we also know that many of you are suffering physically and financially right now. Our hope is that CHM can be a beacon of hope for you in the midst of challenging times.
Please know that we’re still working diligently behind the scenes to serve you, even though some processes and procedures look a bit different. For example, some of our employees are working from home. Others are working in-office hours following strict health protocols that will keep our staff safe, so they can continue to share your medical bills and perform other essential ministry functions.
…and we can financially support any bills submitted for COVID-19—along with bills for other health conditions. The ministry employs strong financial principles, including operating within a debt-free mindset, analyzing and adjusting monthly costs to make sure medical bills are shared despite rising healthcare costs, and working with members and healthcare providers to secure the best prices for medical procedures. In addition, CHM's recent sharing time average takes 75-90 days once the ministry receives all necessary forms and itemized medical bills.
