My grandma’s obituary. One of the last of a very special generation - selfless and self-effacing, dutiful and kind, generous with her time and efforts. If she were still with us she’d certainly be very annoyed to see any kind of fuss being made over her

I’m not sure the Rwandan plan will happen because I can’t interpret any other way than illegal, whether it should be or not. Every “lay” person I’ve spoken to presumes they are sent there for processing. Not so: they are sent there to stay, redirecting their application.

I agreed with the former bishop of Jarrow that the U.K. actually handles a relatively small proportion of the global refugee crisis, and the chief complaint is that safe routes exist for some (Ukraine) but not others: Iran usually tops the list for U.K. refugees.

As I said in the rest of this interview, this is a v short clip of the end, I have no objection to clerics commenting on politics: Welby not only speaks up for migrants on these shores but heads a communion that includes the very countries they’ve come from.

The government isn't pursuing its Rwanda refugee plan because it's 'heathen' but because it wants to stop people dying at sea, argues The Telegraph's leader writer Tim Stanley. @CamillaTominey | @timothy_stanley

Today is Holy Saturday, a time of waiting. This curious 1880s glass by WG Taylor at Thornham Magna, Suffolk remembers Anne Henniker, who kneels bottom right with St John, Mary, St Mary Magdalene and St Peter at the guarded tomb, the stone in place, the entrance sealed.

It’s entirely representative, as in balance of views, of the people I’ve spoke to offline. It’s actually not as popular as I expected, though folks might be lying to pollsters.

I'm incredibly honored to have President Trump's support. He was an incredible fighter for hard working Americans in the White House, he will be again, and I'll fight for the America First Agenda in the Senate.

45: It is time for the entire MAGA movement, the greatest in the history of our Country, to unite behind J.D.’s campaign … he will put America First. In other words, J.D. Vance has my Complete and Total Endorsement. He will not let you down. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

This is big (if it happens). Trump picking an underdog, which is a risk, and a former critic. But Vance has national attention and anti war credentials. Plus, if you watch the primary debates, he’s by far the most eloquent and coherent contender (one debate featured a brawl).

The prospect that Donald Trump might soon endorse J.D. Vance in Ohio’s crowded Republican Senate primary race is stirring confusion and anxiety in the state, as some GOP leaders mount a last-ditch effort to persuade Trump against making the move. nyti.ms/3ElJiUM

New Milton has a Costa?! Truly this is an age of wonders. (I remember when you had to take a train to Bournemouth if you wanted foam in your coffee).
