Culture and Tourism - Final Report - Work Package 9 Ex post evaluation of Cohesion Policy programmes 2007-2013, focusing on the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Cohesion Fund (CF)

The report includes the ex-post evaluation of ERDF interventions in culture and tourism during the period 2007-2013. The evaluation establishes the nature of EU co-financed investments in the two sector, and it explores the rationale and objectives which guided the strategies  for these investments. Based on monitoring data, desk analysis, online survey, and case studies, the study reflects on the implementation of EU projects in tourism and culture, their outputs and results, and their effectiveness, sustainability and EU added value.  As of 2016, there are very few studies which focus on the EU investments in the fields of tourism and culture. The added value of this evaluation is that it contributes to a better understanding of the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the EU investments in the two sectors.
