Chest pain after Novavax?

I got Novavax about 2 weeks ago & had some chest fluttering/heart palpitations on and off. But tonight, started to get chest pain and shortness of breath when bending down and just lying in bed.

I didn’t see the vial when they gave it to me but my vaccine card says Novavax with a lot #. It was a pre filled sticker.

I got Moderna in the past and had really bad reactions (cytokine storm, amnesia like brain fog, couldn’t turn my head side to side, numbness on left side of body, trouble walking, hallucinations, extremely painful migraines - this lasted about a year or so) so I tried to get Novavax because so many people said it’s more mild.

All in all, I’d rather deal with this than Covid. Mainly regarding long term immune system damage Covid can do. Never have tested positive for Covid. (Negative RATs, PCRs, nucleocapsid) but do acknowledge that it is possible I got Covid and didn’t seroconvert.

Did this happen to anyone else? Did you get the 2nd/3rd Novavax shot?

Can anything be done? Drinking Gatorade for now & will try to take C0Q10 and maybe fish oil.

Will probably start looking for a new dr/cardiologist next week. The ones I went to didn’t do anything for the Moderna issues.

My negative experience with novavax

First Dose

3 months ago i got novavax because I needed the vaccine for the army. My reactions started off as chest discomfort and then became chest pain and started feeling my heartbeat when normally I would not (if that makes sense). When I got to reception I went to sick call where they did an ekg and chest x ray, but they found nothing. They gave me ibuprofen and called it a day.

Throughout basic I experience off and on mild chest pain and now I’m heading to Ait. I will go to sick call again and see if they can find what’s the problem. I pray it is not myocarditis or pericarditis, but Im worried because what else could it be. I don’t want to stop serving and I don’t want my health to be in jeopardy.

Update: Went to sick call today and got another ekg which showed everything normal. The doctor really seemed to not care and tried to play it off for something small and say it just spasms. Physical therapist came in to see if it could be a chest wall or something like that, but came up negative. Now they gonna send me to a cardiologist which my appointment won’t be made till January.

Wish I had known about Novavax

Mix and Match

Got our bivalent boosters last month, and I wish I had known about Novavax before. We had never had any issues with the prior vaccines except soreness. I was fine with the bivalent but my spouse got chest pains and ended up going to the ER. After countless of tests they ascertained everything was okay (as in heart, lungs). Costochondritis was the diagnosis. Took a couple of weeks to feel normal again.

I also like the appeal of Novavax in what I’ve read about it’s efficacy against all sorts of variants despite not being bivalent.

Maybe if they do boosters a year from now we may be able to do the Novavax.

My local pharmacy’s supply of Novavax expires on February 28th (2023)

USA Question

They said they will try to order more but cannot guarantee they’ll be able to get any. Does anyone know if there will be anymore doses available for them to order? We were hoping to get Nvx for my son who turns 12 next year. This is so frustrating.

ETA: Just called Novavax and they have no idea if more doses will be available because only the government can purchase them, and they’re not sure if they’ll be purchasing more.
